“What’s up doc?” When I was a young Bondo, the Looneytunes cartoons were just about the best thing going.
“I did, I did saw a puddy-tat!” With a combination of unique, striking animal characters and genius comedy/story writing- the cartoons were entertaining, funny, and had broad appeal.
“Beep Beep!”
There, however, was always this particular episode that was always so… not so much. It had Wiley Coyote and Sheepdog, but it wasn’t the real coyote. They were out of character. It was less slapstick and more adult-themed- and more dark:

In case you are unfamiliar with the story, the sheep dog and coyote live a normal life in the city. They arrive at work and once the whistle blows the coyote spends 8 hours- with a hour lunchbreak- trying to steal sheep while the sheep dog prevents him until the 5 o’clock whistle when they pack it up and go home. Michael Maltese and Chuck Jones were obviously commenting on some aspect/facet of life in 1960- there are a lot of plausible interpretations- but regardless, Bondo believes it is uncanny how much this cartoon short is in fact a realistic take on today’s political theatre.
Bitter enemies from 8-5, then back-slapping and tale-telling down at the Well of the Senate until the cows go home. If you (still) think there are two competing ideologies in DC- you, respectfully, are being deceived. Consider some of the following:
Mission Accomplished- George W. Bush, May 1, 2003
Afghan War– Seventeen years after rolling into Afghanistan to ‘capture or kill Osama bin Laden and defeat the Taliban’, with bin Laden long dead and the Taliban having re-branded, routed, resurrected- who knows?- we are still there. Reminiscent of the conflict in George Orwell’s 1984 between Oceania, Eastasia, and Eurasia- it is mind numbing and stultifying trying to keep up with this dystopic ‘war’. Taliban, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Karzai, Pakistan. Who’s on first?
Tell me which Democrats are calling for the end of the longest war in our history? Republicans?
Somebody’s gotta protect those poppy fields. There ain’t no oil there.
Border– They have been fretting over the Southern border as long as I can remember. We have heard tough talk through the years- from just as many Democrats as Republicans if you care to look it up- and yet nothing ever really gets done. From ‘enforcing the law’ to troops on the border to punishing employers and every other futile scheme- the Dems and Repubs alike steadfastly refuse to do the one thing that will work- build the wall. Public opinion became so great during the Bush years that Congress approved the wall. Now that a president has arrived that is willing to get it done, what Democrats are willing? Republicans?
Guantanamo Bay (and other broken promises with control of Congress)– Barack Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay. The Dems had the presidency and control of Congress for two years and never tried. President Phone and a Pen never tried. And as the sub heading says- the W Bush administration was the biggest do-nothing presidency in recent history. With the Presidency, the Congress, and the Supreme Court in Republican hands for six years- what part of the Conservative agenda did they advance?
I thought so. W’s administration was my wake up moment as a matter of fact.
War– Here’s a simple one- Which party is the anti-war party? Explain how they are different in their war views.
The “Nuclear Option”– This has to be the biggest scam the Senate has. Constantly using the excuse that it takes 60 votes to get anything done in the Senate- somehow, inexplicably and completely inconsistently- from time to time they up and decide to use the ‘Nuclear Option’. So sometimes the Senate requires 60 and sometimes 51- without any reason. Both parties do this. What does the Constitution say?
“Russians”– As my son astutely observed- for a group of scummy inhuman dolts- the ‘Russians’ are sure good enough and trustworthy enough for us to depend on to get our astronauts back and forth to the space station. It is never even a concern. Something don’t add up. “Russians” are globalists’ scape-goats, and the party in power always ties them to the other while dealing with them behind the scenes.
Obamacare (and repeal)– This bad stunt should have convinced any Republicans who still believe the parties are different. John Roberts’ affirmation was one of those proverbial nails for me. The Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare around 60 times during the Obama administration. A complete fraud. It was outrageous dishonest political theater. They knew Obama would veto it- but by golly they tried. Then, the truly outrageous part- when Republicans finally got their man who would repeal it- all of a sudden the gutless wonders showed their true colors- Republicans in name only. There is absolutely no reason Obamacare shouldn’t have been repealed on day one of Trump’s administration if there really was an opposition Republican party.
I actually did vote for [it] before I voted against it. – John Kerry
There are two parties in America. And we can clearly see what the purpose of the two party system is- look around you.
Division. Yes, they like to play their games. The party in power controls the committees, the budget, and the agenda supposedly. But the theater is for your benefit.
“Look at that orange insane man! He’s going to ruin the country- I better send some money to the Dems” “Look at that Muslim in the White House. He wants to destroy the country- I better send some money to the Republicans”.
