Unless the laws of physics are being violated- I can assume this is consistent worldwide?

Land subsidence.
They condemned and cut off a subdivision near here in Baytown, TX because it flooded with every single above average tide. The culprit?

If the sea level was rising- even infestimally- Miami, Mobile, Cape Hatteras, the Cayman Islands, the Maldives, and the Florida Keys would be telling us. (New Orleans is already below sea level- that’s a whole nother issue)
